The space:

The luminous yurt (Mongolian: ger) was hand-made by a family in Mongolia. It is 19' in diameter and 284 square feet of circular serenity. Its curved lattice walls (khana) and sloped ceiling of 81 poles (unis) support a large round skylight (toono) all covered in breathable cotton canvas and lambs wool insulation that come together to gently cradle you in a calming space unlike any western dwelling. The sounds of nature softly enter the space and abundant natural daylight shines through the toono. The vented (but waterproof) toono and screened front doors provide excellent ventilation. AC keeps you cool and dry on hot summer days. In colder weather you'll stay cozy in the warmth and glow radiating from the glass front pellet stove.

Guest access:

The Luminous Yurt is your own private oasis with a three-season separate entrance (in the winter you must enter through the house). You will have private use of the 1/2 bath on the first floor in our home and your exclusive outdoor shower. The large verdant backyard is yours to relax in and enjoy with a fish pond & bridge, gardens, fire pit, and hammock.
*PLEASE NOTE: We do try to keep eating to a minimum in the yurt to discourage any visits from creatures large and small. You are welcome to relax on the deck, or we can set a table for you near the pond.

The Luminous Yurt is a sacred retreat. Esteemed healers from around the globe have offered their gifts and teachings in the space. The vibration is palpable.
