Take a closer look and decide for yourself: The Groovyyurts platforms are fully insulated, transportable and easy to assemble. The SIP panel principle is based on a “sandwich” structure, made of 2 sheets of plywood with 2” (or more on request) of white Styrofoam. Panels measure a maximum of 4’x 8’ and are assembled with a tongue and grove connection. They are very easy to assemble.
A big advantage to this system is that it is light and transportable, while also being very strong, rigid, and durable. It requires only a very simple substructure to support it. Our platform can be installed on snow or on a very flat ground, without any substructure at all for shorter periods of time. Otherwise, it should be installed on parallel beams, in 4’ increments. On a fairly flat surface, the beams can simply be made of 4″x 4″ treated wood, levelled directly on the ground or on cement blocks. In an uneven terrain, a substructure can be assembled with 2″ x 8″ beams on a few cement pillars, blocks, or even screw piers.
