I had dinner in Ceili Cottage in your yurt and it was a wonderful experience, it works really well as a restaurant, sucking up noise so that you can talk and enjoy yourself in a crowded space; that many people at that density in a normal place and it would be impossibly loud. Delicious food too. I was amazed that such a place exists in Toronto.
I LOVE LIVING IN MY YURT! It’s a great size, it’s beautiful, and sturdy. It is so serene and rejuvenating.
We have been thrilled with our yurt. We got quite the looks from people when they found out we’d be living in the yurt full-time in Northern Minnesota, but as Winter wore on, we got less shock and more amazement. This past Winter was the hardest in over 130 years. We had a few nights that dipped below -60ºF (-51ºC) but with our woodstove nice and hot the yurt stayed comfy and cozy. It is amazing.
J’ai passé la majeure partie de mon temps dans ma yourte cette hiver ! C’était vraiment bien !!Tout la famille adore!
It is beautiful. It is home. The best part about living in the ger is feeling so connected to nature.
Thank you for all of your work and the experience. We love our yurt and are there often.
I do not know of a time that any company made my job easier than your has.
I am loving the yurt! It is incredible! So happy to be living in it!
We were looking for a structure I could use as an office space that did not require building permits, zoning changes and severances that a permanent building would require in our area and were considering a yurt as one possibility. After researching we chose to go with Groovy Yurts and last spring the truck arrived and two lovely men got busy putting up our new space, while instructing us on yurt care, lore and stories of Mongolia. We like that so many families are supported in Mongolia and love all the public service this company selflessly offers. Our yurt is magnificent. The quality and workmanship is apparent in the fine details. We like that these are traditional yurts, made with natural, non toxic materials, as we trust that a peoples that have been making and living in yurts for thousands of years have perfected the design. We had an insulated floor made for it by Groovy Yurts, installed a propane stove and it has been a cosy beautiful space all winter. It has weathered severe winds, ice storms, torrential rains with no problems. We loved it so much we bought a smaller one for storage and are looking at a third as we are getting requests from so many who want to stay in a yurt we are thinking of another one as a guest house! The customer service has been exemplary and we have come to really respect this company.
My Groovy yurt here in the Yukon survived two major earthquake tremors this morning. I am very happy about that!!
I worked with the company GROOVY YURTS to supply the camp at Standing Rock with warm shelters. They were a total pleasure to work with–prompt, responsible and sensitive to the needs of the Water Protectors.
Why does it feel so amazing inside the yurt? I am laying in my bed watching through the screen as the wind and monsoon rain fall, thunder and lighting disrupt the skies but instead of being frightened or nervous I feel peaceful and good. So what is it about bring in the yurt with wild elements and sounds all around that makes one feel so calm as ND safe?
Yes, time has flown. 5 years! Thanks for all the great quality of life you have added to my (and many other people’s) life in those 5 years.
The yurt has withstood aggressive winds, blizzard and has kept me and my 4 babies warm, among the Secwepemc elders that have come to stay for a time too. Kukstsmec, Thank You.
It has rained numerous times since the yurt has been up, and except for one occasion when the cover was on wrong, we have been exceptionally dry and comfy. Last week we did have a hot/dry spell (temps around 90 F), but after playing around with the yurt, we managed to keep it cool by opening the urgh and main door in the morning to let cool air in, then close the door during the hot part of day. We kept the toono open to let out hot air.
We are doing well in our yurt! We managed to get through that bad winter and humidity hasn’t been a problem for us. As soon as I made a polycarbonate roof for the toono, it’s made a big difference inside! We were able to enjoy light even while it was raining! Only 2 days in March it didn’t rain!
It’s absolutely fantastic…thank you so much for all your help, advice and fun, Groovy Yurts! You are stars! 🙂
Groovy Yurts, you helped make our dreams come true. Random pictures of off-grid living in Northwestern Ontario. Gardens are maturing and we are really starting to harvest delicious, nutritious, organically grown foods.
The yurt has started its second journey and is like new
Attached is a photo of the unbelievably beautiful yurt Chuck and David put up today. We are very happy with the outcome and we were also so pleased with the spiritual dimension Chuck conveyed. Namaste, Peace and Music, and all the best for Groovy Yurts!
Thanks again for your efforts this week. The reaction and response to the yurt has been AMAZING.
After 5 years, I still love my yurt! Yves made it happen. I didn’t know how I was gonna get one but he was great in helping me get one here in Chisasibi! Thanks Yves!
Thank you so much for EVERYTHING!! Since day one you and Groovy Yurts have been informative, supportive, jovial, helpful, and above all else encouraging and patient! WE DID IT. And guess what! Tom (my husband) and I with a bit of help from our three children and my mom here and there did it. I guess I needed to know if two people could really do it, huh? It feels exhilarating! I know one thing for sure is we truly know our yurt.
Yves, Fabio and Sharon are terrific to work with. The yurt is absolutely wonderful, it took a lot more work to put with the steeper roof for higher rainfall climate and delayed door arrival due to customs – but we went with delivery and installation help and that was the right choice indeed. What a terrific yurt – the all natural, handmade materials, beautiful bright handpainted roof poles, center poles and door are stunning. The handbraided horsehair rope – really incredible. The best part? This sacred space was made as part of a sustainabile family business in Mongolia. Business for good – right here. Congrats on a wonderful product and team, Yves.
